To celebrate West Virginia’s connection to the earth, WVU’s WECAN (WVU Environmental Conservation Awareness Now) program promoting sustainability has planned a full slate of activities for Earth Week, April 16-20.

Events will kick off with a volunteer opportunity in conjunction with the Center for Civic Engagement’s Week of Engagement. Students can volunteer to help beautify landscaping around the Mountainlair on Monday, April 16.

Tuesday, April 17, is a day for WVU faculty, staff, and students to recycle personal electronics and shred confidential materials. Each person may bring two letterhead boxes of paper to the Communications Building from 9-11 a.m., and electronics can be dropped off behind the Communications Building at the old St. Francis school site.
